A Photographer's Responsibility

What would you do in an exciting moment in time? Being a photographer, I think there are certain responsibilities you have when it comes to capturing moments. Yes, a photographer should take pictures that will portray the feeling that the photographer wants to get across. I believe it's a photographer's job to take moments and magnify and somewhat exaggerate the feelings behind it. When it comes down to being a human with a beating heart and a breathing soul, there is more responsibility. When you are in the moment, I believe you should learn to just be in that moment. If lightning strikes your house and your house goes up in flames, what is the first thing you want to do? Do you want to take a picture of it or find some sort of help for the people and stuff inside your house? I believe that common sense should come before photography. As imperfect humans, we need to think about the right and wrong choices we can make. It's true, everyone messes up. Just like every picture that a photographer takes is not always going to be perfect. I am a strong believer of there are moments in life that we'll want to capture and keep forever, but let me ask you this one question: 10 years from now, when ou look back on your life, are you going to be thinking about the amazing pictures that you took or the moments you experienced? Why do we take pictures? I believe it is for sharing and remembering the moments in life that you lived. So next time you want to take a picture of an event, keep that in mind. What is more important to you? The scenes you were a part of or the scenes you conveyed?
