Thursday Thoughts

This week, it was unfortunate that we didn't have class 3 times, as the usual. I learned how to make a color, such as red, be the only color in an image (or close to it). I enjoyed editing in LR this week, and I had so much fun with the pictures I took from Target and in Hilsboro (of a cow). We talked about the Academy Awards in the beginning of class, and then I believe we began to edit in Lightroom. We talked about our Architecture and Cityscape project, which I am really excited about. It was a good week, I can't complain.

Thursday Thoughts

This week I learned about the importance of shooting other people. It is important to be respectful of others when shooting. Don't be a huge disturbance. I also learned, that in some places, it is your right to shoot. Such as, on a public sidewalk. However, you don't want to create issues with other people. Even when shooting candids, you should be discrete and unobtrusive. Also, when shooting indoors, at a place that is not your own, you need to ask permission to shoot a few photos there. You also have to be aware of your surroundings and not make a nuisance out of yourself in public places.

I tired editing this photo in B&W, but I decided I liked the rust colored look better. And it made more sense to have color since the colors are basically the same except for the rust. My ISO was 400, and my aperture was f/ 5.6. Taken by Anna Kennedy I also shot this photo of a sign in the parking lot. I like the eroded style of the image. I changed my aperture when shooting, but the image came out a little dark. So when I imported the other pictures that I took into LR, I brought up the exposure a little bit. Also, I brought the whites down, because of the sky in the background. And I brought up the blacks so the writing on the ...

Thursday Thoughts

Feb. 7, 2013  This week I found things at PAA to take pictures of. I hadn't noticed them around before. Also, I learned how easy it is to upload a couple photos onto Lightroom to edit. It was a really good week of photography overall. I especially loved going out to shoot for 1 class period.
