Architecture Assignment-Self Critique

I think my strengths in this particular project were a few things. The first one being I had a lot more confidence with this project. I knew what I was doing more or less and I felt like I could work with the camera. I aslo think I did well on finding fun things to take photos of. That really is the best part of photography. Finding something and making it even more of something than it already is. Lastly, I believe I had some unique angles and composition. I loved taking each one of these photos even if there were some challenges. I think improvements that I need to make are I need to realize the amount of work I might have to do in the editing process, while I'm shooting. I need to think while I'm shooting. It's that simple, but very crucial. And thats something I learned on this assignment. There were a couple images where I cropped and straightened and cropped and straightened and so on, and they just didn't end up being the way I wanted them to be. That's som...

Thursday Thoughts

April 18, 2013 So, this week I edited and finished my cityscape/urban project. I definitely took a bigger risk with this project, especially when it came to editing. I also became surprised with some images that I wasn't too happy with in the beginning. I edited lots of images to make them more strong and bold. I loved doing this project so much. As far as critiquing goes, I didn't get much of a chance to do very much of it this week. Although, I did help Zac out a lot with helping him choose which pictures stood out more than others. I thought it was cool how bold he was in this project.

Thursday Thoughts

Today I posted my first 10 pictures on my blog. I learned in this process that eliminating photos is actually really difficult. I'm not sure if 100% satisfied with my first 10, but I am going to go out and shoot again and see if I am more happy with the new images.

Thursday Thoughts

This week, it was unfortunate that we didn't have class 3 times, as the usual. I learned how to make a color, such as red, be the only color in an image (or close to it). I enjoyed editing in LR this week, and I had so much fun with the pictures I took from Target and in Hilsboro (of a cow). We talked about the Academy Awards in the beginning of class, and then I believe we began to edit in Lightroom. We talked about our Architecture and Cityscape project, which I am really excited about. It was a good week, I can't complain.
